Jesper Fast Signs for Three Years

The Rangers announced today that they have re-signed forward Jesper Fast to a three-year contract, that carries a $1.85 million AAV.

Fast has been an unsung hero for the Rangers the last few years. He gives his full 100% effort on every shift and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. Fast is beloved by Rangers fans and players alike, being the recipient of the Players’ Player Award each of the last two seasons for “best exemplifying what it means to be a team player.”

He doesn’t have gaudy offensive numbers, but he is a solid contributor who can play up and down the lineup. He had 21 points (6G, 15A) last year during the regular season, and added six more (3G, 3A) during the playoffs. He is a guy that AV trusts in all situations, and that is something that cannot be replaced.

WELCOME BACK JESPER!

  • In my humble opinion, this has been the best news I’ve heard since the draft and trade season began! He is, indeed a solid player!!! I, for one, am glad to hear this!
(If anyone has followed my posts, you must know I don’t think very highly of some of the Primadonna Rangers that play only when they feel like it!) ONE is too many on a team, and we seem to be “blessed” with SEVERAL who only put out when THEY feel like it! Fortunately, Fast is not one of them! I just can’t figure out what AV sees in these guys! he seems to be content with carrying them for games and games, waiting for them to “honor” us with a complete game effort!!

We would love your thoughts! Comment Please!
