The New York Rangers have not gotten off to the most auspicious start; they were 0-2 until they shutting out the Montreal Canadiens last night. Filip Chytil has clearly ordered the AV special, with Anthony DeAngelo not too far behind. However, there have been a few bright spots. The New York Rangers have a Power Play. Led by Kevin Shattenkirk and Mika Zibanejad, the Rangers have scored four PP goals in two games. Mika Zibanejad seems to be taking the next step, and his line with Kreider and Buchnevich is electric every time they are on the ice.

Each post will highlight the performances of three Rangers’ European Prospects, along with a number of honorable mentions. In order to be eligible, a player must play for a European Team. Rangers Rumor Roundup: Jumbo Joe, Smith Returning, and Backing Up the King

Hello All! @NHLRumorsDaily here again with another rumor roundup of the latest Rangers news from the past 24 hours. The window is now open for the Blueshirts and the 30 other NHL teams to gauge interest from all pending free agents, and there are at least three names that I can confirm the Rangers have reached out to. Another top priority for the Rangers has been to re-sign defenseman Brendan Smith, and it seems to be heading that way based on recent reports of the talks between the two camps.

Two Months Until NHL Trade Deadline: NY Rangers Edition

The New York Rangers currently have approximately $1.45 million in available salary cap space as of right now, with that figure (all else equal) projecting to hit a little over $3.55 million on the trade deadline.

One thing to keep in mind is that a simple trade can spark immeasurable consequences, for better or worse, when it comes to an NHL club. Specifically, when it comes to this team and discussing possible remedies, I’m reminded of the 2006-07 Rangers.
