Wolf Pack Town Hall Meeting Recap

Last night wrapped up the fifth annual Hartford Wolf Pack town hall meeting. The Wolf Pack’s management group, Spectra, began to do these to interact with the season ticket holders when they took over the team and the XL Center. They provide updates on and off the ice such as potential players coming in, theme nights, promotions, and renovations.  Here’s a recap of this year’s meeting.

Wolf Pack Lease

General Manager of the XL Center Chris Lawrence provided a brief update on contract talks between Madison Square Garden and Spectra. Talks have been positive and it seems that the two sides should be finalizing an agreement soon, although terms were not disclosed.  However, from what I have heard, the new lease would be for two seasons. The franchise fee for the 2018-19 season would be $1.55 million and $1.6 million in 2019-20.

Ice System Update

This summer, the XL Center was given money by the state of Connecticut to replace the ice system. There has been new piping and cement installed on the arena floor. The new boards will also be up in August. Currently, the cement is drying and was poured on July 14th. It will sit drying for a month and then they will finish up the project. The fun stuff…giveaways and themes

The promotional schedule for the club will be released in mid-August. Ideas that have been discussed are having Country night, St. Patrick’s Day night, WWE night, Hawaiian night, and much more. The front office wants to diversify the promotions to reach a broader audience. The popular $2 beer and $1 hot dogs will be returning on Friday nights.

Season ticket holders will also get a membership card. The program is still a work in progress and will allow fans to get discounts at local restaurants, parking, and other area businesses.

McCambridge (AHL)

Keith McCambridge Speaks

Keith McCambridge was in attendance talking to the season ticket holders. He is excited about the upcoming season and emphasized structure for the team to be successful. He also ensures that work ethic will be in place every game despite the score. There will be an emphasis on a winning culture that will allow players to develop. Great selection of words by head coach Keith McCambridge.
