Is Kerfoot The Answer?

The summer of 2017 will be remembered as one of massive change for the Rangers and their fans. The buyout of Dan Girardi, the trade of Derek Stepan and Anti Raanta, the loss of Oscar Lindberg in the expansion draft were some of the biggest moves. There were additions. Anthony DeAngelo came via trade, while the Blueshirts signed free agents Kevin Shattenkirk, David Desharnais, and Ondrej Pavelec. But, there is still a gaping hole in the middle. They are short one center, and really lack depth at that position more than any other, organizationally. And that is surely a factor in why the Rangers selected 2 centers in the first round of the draft. Read more

Can The Rangers Land Hobey Baker Finalist Alex Kerfoot?

We all know the current situation at center for the New York Rangers is one that has a lot of question marks, even with the signing of David Desharnais. What if there was another option to fill that gap? Well, the Rangers could be in luck with Hobey Baker Award Nominee and Harvard captain Alexander Kerfoot. He, just like many other college players in recent years, is holding out on signing with the team that drafted him, which so happens to be the rival New Jersey Devils. This means that if he isn’t signed with the Devils by Aug 15th, he will become a UFA who can choose any NHL club.
