Former Islander Vanek says Brooklyn move make Isles undesirable, ya think??

While the two teams get set to face off tomorrow night in Brooklyn, former Islander now Red Wing was quoted as saying that the move to Kings county has “turned off” players.

This is the same player that turned down 2 offers of 7M by the Islanders so that’s saying something.

Come on, as a Rangers fan I think this is hysterical. Besides the fact that they have a lopsided looking arena…their scoreboard is as offside as Bob Nystrom was on the Islanders first Cup winning goal!

  • Coming from a guy whose play has turned off some teams is laughable. Isles were in a no win situation. Nassau County’s fiscal irresponsibility, corruption and Charles Wang’s desire NOT to spend his own money doomed the Isles. Now as I Ranger fan I agree this is hysterical but I do feel bad for my friends who are livelong Isle fans who have had to deal for an organization that’s as inept of an organization as the woeful East Rutherford Jets. Sad part is many of them are Jet fans as well, talk about having nothing to look to from Aug thru April.

  • Just look at the section of seats on the lower left corner of the photo. They are facing center ice. To see the goal on the left hand side of the ice you will have to crane your neck for most of the game. Not fun if you paid big bucks to sit in those sideways seats. And during the broadcasts, there is always a car on display. One more thing, NJ Devil related.. how on earth did Ken Daneyko get that job in the booth? He has the WORST voice for hockey. Every time he tries to talk loud, his voice gets all throaty and raspy. So unpleasant to listen to.
